Who Does This Scream Belong To?
March 11, 2009
“Why is Kaitlyn screaming? Yes… that’s definitely her.” I whispered to myself.
A high-pitched shrieking sound came from downstairs.
Where is mom? Why hasn’t Kaitlyn stopped screaming yet? Wow, she must have hurt herself, something like that. I decided.
I leaned over the banister- waiting to see what happened next.
“WHA, WHA, WHA, WHA, WHA, WHA!” The shrill sound continued.
“What is wrong with her?” I said under my breath.
I grabbed my stuff: two socks, shoes, and the two books I was going to take to school. I rushed downstairs, ready to make Kaitlyn to stop crying (somehow!).
When my feet hit the cool, smooth floor downstairs, I looked around for her.
Kaitlyn wasn’t in sight, she wasn’t there.
In the corner of my eye, I saw my parrot Kiwi. He began to open his mouth; However, he stopped when he caught sight of me.
I slowly backed up the stairs, making sure I could see Kiwi, but he couldn’t see me.
Kiwi opened his mouth again; This time he didn’t stop.
“WHA, WHA, WHA!” I heard that ear shattering noise again.
This time I looked at Kiwi…his mouth moved, but Kaitlyn’s usual scream came out.
As soon as I stepped into Kiwi’s view, the noise stopped.
“Kiwi: a screaming parrot that sounds the same as my little sister going hysterical.” I said laughing.
