Slice of Life #15
March 16, 2009
Picture of someone on the horse while it’s jumping.
Da dum… Da dum…” The horse’s rhythm to the canter made a steady pounding noise. I pulled back on the reins trying to resist Medallo’s incredible speed. The fence came closer and closer, getting bigger and bigger.
This is the end! I thought miserably.
“Whooooooo” Wind whistled in my ears as the horse got ready to jump. I suddenly remembered to lift myself out of the saddle. “Not too much” Nathalie had said.
I got into two point position as the fence disappeared underneath me.
“Ooooh”, I grunted, as I my back hit the hard leather saddle.
“AAAAAAHHHHHHH! HEEEEELLLLLLPPPPP MEEEEEE!” I wanted to scream. My mouth was dry; nothing would come out.
I could feel one leg sliding over the horse. I was slowly sliding over one way. Not thinking, I yanked on the reins with my sweaty fingers.
The poor, confused horse started to turn wildly out of control.
Lean back, resist by pulling strongly on the reins, I repeated in my head.
Medallo eventually slowed down (unwillingly) to a bouncy trot.
What a show off. I murmured.
